Freeway Rick, Rick Ross Come Face to Face In Court
(AllHipHop News) The battle between former drug baron Freeway Rick Ross and Hip-Hop star Rick Ross rages on in court.
The two men appeared in a Miami court last week, to give depositions in their ongoing trademark dispute over the name Rick Ross.
“[He] treated me as if I had done something to him,” Freeway Rick Ross told The Huffington Post in a recent interview. “When he first came to me, he didn’t know what position I was going to take, if I was going to send a word out to those young cats out in L.A. or not. That put a little fear in his heart.
Freeway Rick Ross originally filed a $10 million lawsuit against Rick Ross, born William Leonard Roberts III in May of 2010, claiming that he is illegally profiting off of his name.
The lawsuit, which was filed in the United States District for Southern California, was dismissed in Federal court in November of 2010, when a judge ruled that he couldn’t sue, because his past criminal acts destroyed “any possibility that he has any valid trademark rights in his name, that have been violated by defendants.”
The judge ruled that Freeway Rick could appeal in state court, which he did immediately.
In an article in the Huffington Post last week, Freeway Rick Ross said the two men came face-to-face and the rapper shot dirty looks his way.
“Now that he knows I’m not carrying it like that, he’s a little more courageous right now,” Freeway Rick Ross said adding: [He] has my name tattooed on his hand.”
The case is ongoing.
Hip-Hop Rumors: Chris Brown and Rihanna “Hook Up” at GRAMMY Rehearsals?
We hear Chris Brown and Rihanna have been spending some quality time together as of late. RumorFix.com is reporting that the two spent five hours holed up in Rihanna’s dressing room during rehearsals for the 2012 Grammy Awards on the Sony lot in Los Angeles. What the two were doing for five hours is still unknown, but source say Chris’ girlfriend Karrueche Tran was nowhere in site – although Chris was accompanied by one of his male friends.
Funny enough, Karrueche tweeted this tweet out last night:

Sorry, Karrueche, with Rihanna back in the picture, I don’t think you will be able to have it all.
Do you think Rihanna and Chris Brown getting back together would be a mistake? These two have a tumultuous history, but that was three years ago, and they both seemed to have grown up a lot since then. If they do, they would definitely be the new Whitney and Bobby. I just hope they don’t end up like them!

Fugitive Wanted For Role In Jimmy Henchman Cocaine Operation Arrested
(AllHipHop News)bA man wanted for his role in Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond’s drug dealing operation was apprehended over the weekend.
Authorities had been seeking Jason Williams, who went on the run in May of 2011, after an indictment was unsealed accusing Henchman and his subordinates of using Czar Entertainment as a front for a $10 million drug dealing operation.
Henchman is accused of using Czar, which managed artists like Game, Brandy and Akon, as a cover to send hundreds of kilos of cocaine in cases used for transporting music equipment to various recording studios.
The scheme then used Fedex to send the proceeds to mailbox drops in vacuum sealed bags on the West coast.
Henchman himself went on the run from May of 2011 until he was apprehended in late June of 2011, at The W in New York’s Union Square.
In October of 2011, Henchman’s brother Kesnar Rosemond was sentenced to 12 years in prison for his role in the drug dealing operation.
Jimmy “Henchman” Rosemond is currently awaiting trial on drug conspiracy and trafficking charges.
He has pleaded not guilty and faces a life sentence if convicted.
Jason Williams is currently being held without bail on cocaine distribution and drug trafficking charges.
